Shining His Light

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:1-5)

This passage from John reminds us of the powerful, eternal nature of Jesus Christ. He is the source of all life and light, and He offers us salvation, peace, and eternal life. In a world often filled with darkness and hardship, Jesus shines as a beacon of hope.

But how do we reflect His light in our own lives? How do we take this powerful truth and make it real in our everyday actions?

Perhaps we can share our faith with a friend who is searching for meaning. Or maybe we can volunteer our time at a local soup kitchen, offering a warm meal and a kind word to someone in need. Even a simple act of kindness, like holding the door open for a stranger or offering a listening ear to a friend who is struggling, can be a powerful way to share Christ’s love.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank you for being the light of the world. Illuminate my path and guide my steps. Help me to shine Your light to others, and may my life be a reflection of your love and grace. In Your name, I pray. Amen.

This week, make an effort to share Christ’s love with someone who is struggling. Let your light shine, and be a beacon of hope in the darkness.
